Americans for Law Enforcement PAC and Alliance Marketing LLC entered an Assurance of Voluntary Compliance (AVC) with the Oregon Department of Justice for alleged unlawful telephone solicitations in Oregon in violation of Oregon’s Do-Not-Call Statute, as well as alleged false and misleading statements during solicitations to Oregon residents. Oregon’s Do-Not-Call law prohibits charitable calls to anyone on the federal do not call list unless the person called has made a prior donation or previously expressed an interest to the organization in donating. The statute plugs the hole in the federal Do-Not-Call law in that the federal law does not apply to charitable calls.
